Seventh Bioms-eu meeting, The Netherlands 31st May 2010

To register please send your details to klinlab@vumc.nl. Hotel rooms can be reserved until March the 17th.

Preliminary program:

Sunday evening:

20:00-22:00: Welcome dinner.

Monday the 31st of May:

9-12: Scientific session.

Presentations on biomarker work. We will especially invite people to present collaborative projects with participants of the BioMS-eu network. Duration presentations: 20 min, depending on number of abstracts. If the number of abstracts is high, we will also organise a poster session.

Deadline abstract submission: March 31st

13-14: Biobanking:

a) We have published our consensus protocol. Now, it is time for implementation. We will discuss hurdles and solutions. Participants will receive a query before the meeting to ask about their experiences.

b) In some countries large scale initiatives have arisen for collaborative CSF biobanking. BioMS-eu network can learn from these experiences. Participants are invited to share their experience. Please indicate if you can present such information.

15-16: Novel initiatives:

Participants that wish to start novel collaborative biomarker studies are given the floor to present their ideas, try to mobilise collaborators and also discuss the possibilities of funding of these studies.

16-17: Collaboration: discussion on how we can increase exchange of PhD students between the labs. One idea is to make a list of reference laboratories that are experts in specific techniques, so you know where to go for learning; another idea is set up an exchange program/find funding from the EU for such a program.

18:00: Dinner.
